Are you facing the problem of no sperms or high FSH resulting in no chances of conception? Well, the solution is here- go for Micro TESE ICSI and get relief from the problem. Microdissection TESE ICSI is also called Microdissection Testicular sperm extraction or micro TESE ICSI in simple language. It is basically a surgical sperm retrieval procedure that is used as an infertility treatment for men who technically have no sperms in their ejaculating process or have high FSH such as kunefeltersipdrome. The condition is caused due to failure of the testis to produce sperms. It is called nonobstructive azoospermia. Micro TESE is used to treat such conditions surgically.

It is basically a surgical biopsy of the testis where the doctors use an advanced operating micro dissecting microscope to pinpoint the problematic tissue to be removed. This is done to cause less damage to the structure inside the testicle and to have lesser after-effects of the procedure such as blood supply problems which are caused by tiny blood vessels being cut. It also appears to increase the number of sperm that can be retrieved. The procedure is performed in the operating room under general anesthesia in order to retrieve sperm for IVF/ICSI by using the surgical operative microscope technique. The Microdissection TESE is proven to improve sperm retrieval in men with non-obstructive azoospermia over those achieved previously with the regular testis biopsy techniques.

It is better than WESE as it involves recovering testicular micro fragments or testicles in a sort of testicle mapping where TBSE consists of a large monofocal box. Bx taken is also less in Micro TESE. There are various advantages of Micro TESE which majorly include higher sperm retrieval rates, reduced acute post-operative complications, few chronic changes to testicular function & fewer complications seen on ultrasound. It can be successfully done and also results in higher chances of conception.

The procedure is a short-term procedure and generally does not require hospitalization after a minor operation. The procedure is performed by an expert team, hence if you are planning to take the treatment, it is essential to go into a detailed discussion with your doctor and talk out the treatment plan. In the initial step, the testis is cut to get the tissue sample. Post which the obtained samples are assessed by the embryologist under the microscope for further study. If required, they are then subjected to additional treatments and assessed whether the tissue is a viable sperm sample. The sperm removed in this process are then either put for freezing or may later be used for injecting into an egg cell on the very same day.

Hence, if you are facing such a condition and looking to undergo treatment, it is advisable to consult with your Gynaecologist about the procedure and the minute complications involved. The process is simple and can be very easily completed in a short span of time. Especially in cases where high FSH suggests no sperm genesis, in such cases also we can find few islands of spermatogenesis (30%-40% cases) & you can father your child with your own genetic material.
